What a beautiful photo! There is nothing as attractive as a red barn in winter! Love the shadows on the snow and the trail of footprints that show this barn is still in use. Lovely winter scene, Deb!

Deb Schense replied:

Thanks Karen! I agree on the red barn in winter. The owner celebrates every five years with a public event. It is 131 years old this year. President Herbert Hoover lived near the barn when growing up and it is believed he played in the barn.

I've done several book events there during anniversary years. It's a wonderful old barn. It can hold up to 200 tons of hay. Quite a bit for it's day. There is a rail car that transports hay from the barn to the wing where cattle were fed.
